Specialisation 227.02 - Occupational therapy

We would like to inform you that legislative changes have taken place in Ukraine in the field of higher education for the training of occupational therapists:

1. By the Resolution No. 1392 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 16, 2022 there was approved the change of the name of specialty

227 "Physical therapy, occupational therapy" to 227 "Therapy and rehabilitation".

2. By the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine dated May 16, 2023 No. 890, registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on May 25, 2023 under No. 869/39925:

• the list of specializations for the training of higher education applicants with a bachelor's degree in specialty 227 "Therapy and rehabilitation" was approved:

227. 01 – Physical therapy

227.02 – Occupational therapy

• it was established that the training of higher education applicants with a bachelor's degree in specialty 227 "Therapy and rehabilitation" of higher education is carried out according to educational programs of the corresponding specialization.

This means that already at the legislative level it has been determined that in Ukraine from the 2023-2024 academic year, the training of specialists in the field of occupational therapy will be carried out according to separate educational programs already at the bachelor's level of higher education. And in 2023-2024, specialization 227.02 - Occupational therapy was added to the unified state education base of Ukraine for admission to the bachelor's level of higher education in

the specialty 227 "Therapy and rehabilitation" in 2023-2024.

We believe that the recognition of a separate specialization 227.02 - Occupational therapy at the legislative level in Ukraine is a significant result of the implementation of the Erasmus+ UKROTHE international project.
